About the practitioner
Anne Newcombe is a Master of Oriental Medicine, Registered Nurse, and Massage Therapist--but she is also a Naturalist and Healer, and a member of the Human Race. Most of all she loves to laugh, and knows personally how hard it can be to do that when you hurt. She suffered from migraines most of her adult life, and, thanks to the Blessings of the Universe, Friends, Family and Beloved Significant Others; and at the urging of several local chiropractors -- she was able to attend the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota. There she learned about the ancient and modern practices of Oriental Medicine, but also, unexpectedly and delightfully, learned the tremendous value of the Integrative Medicine Model. Back home in her native Yooperland, she brings all of her experience to bear to help her Clients find and travel their own personal Paths back to Optimal Wellness.
When not delving into the most recent research showing, yet again, that acupuncture works (which, for some reason seems to surprise so many Western practitioners--even though this medicine is over 2,500 years old, while the Western Paradigm is only about 300 years old...), she can be found, in descending order of likelihood: snuggling with her Sweetie and her three kitties and one very sweet and stubborn old dog, hanging out with her nieces and nephews (who never fail to help her find something to laugh about), in a river (where she may or may not be fishing, just watching a turtle walk across her feet, or dragonflies unfurling and testing their new-found wings). Gardening and cooking are passions and creating art (visual, verbal, textile, tactile), even badly, is just, well, fun. If it's not fun, one has to ask, "Why are you doing it?"
